NEW TECHNOLOGY TO STRUGGLE AGAINST CANCER At the end of 90th a group of scientists from Oncological Institute – acad. Gh. Ţîbîrnă, cor. mem. I. Coricimari, PhD D. Sofroni, PhD N. Gidirim, PhD A. Cernîi – elaborated National Program for Struggling against Cancer for the period of years 1998-2003, approved by Government Decision nr. 1269 from 25.12.1998. The main directions of activity of the Program consisted in organization of oncologic services, primary and secondary cancer prophylaxis, premature diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of oncological patients. As a result of the implementation of this National Program, the index of the morbidity and mortality from malignant growth in the Republic of Moldova has stabilized, but certain of the index are in a light decrease. For realization and promotion of new technologies for struggling against cancer these five notorious specialists have been decorated by Premium of State in Science and Technology domain for 2008 year.
