Rezumat

The actuality of the study lies in the role and importance of a macroprudential policy consistent with the changes in the market economy and implicitly in the banking sector, and its ability to perfectly integrate in the current economic reality. The aim of the research is to develop conceptual approaches to macro-prudential policy and to identify its advantages and disadvantages by the regulatory authority of the national banking sector. Research methods. A systematic approach, historical and economic-statistical methods were used. Results. Following the research, they were described the main instruments of macroprudential policy according to various classification criteria and their influence appreciated on the development of the banking sector.
