Rezumat

In the creative projects of contemporary artists and designers, it is popular to appeal to ethno-themes; interest in traditional techniques and national themes is present in the design and art creation of many countries. Masters continue to use ancient traditions to produce modern artworks. The most common traditional techniques used by Land Art artists are: wickerwork, weaving, wire weaving, carving, stonemasonry, etc. The art of wire weaving is popular among artists of Land Art – namely, weaving from metal wire, because this technique allows you to create three-dimensional, strong, plastic works, also wire is more flexible than natural materials, it is easy to work with. While creating art objects, artists resort to a variety of methods and techniques of using wire: - modeling of three-dimensional products from solid wire, by winding several layers of the material; - creation of three-dimensional plastic sculptures from wire mesh; - welding of individual fragments of wire of different thickness; - combining wire with other materials; - use of colored wire or wire from secondary raw materials. Artists from all over the world work in the technique of wire weaving: Kendra Heist and Robin Wight from Great Britain, David Vanorbeek from Belgium, Oleksiy Shevchuk and Kyrylo Shevchuk from Ukraine, Jaehyo Lee from Korea and others. Objects of Land Art, made in the technique of wire, can be classified by the following factors: morphological features, size, original shape, types of outer surface of the wire, the method of creating visual effects, technique, method of wire assignment. Thus, the technique of wiretapping provides Land Art artists with a wide range of opportunities: giving art objects plasticity; application of fine detailing of works; use of various textures in works; combining with other materials; giving artistic expression to the works. Thus, the creators of Land Art promote not only the art and philosophy of Earthworks, but also the ethnographic culture of their country.
