In the conditions of the ecotop of a dump stored recently in the limestone quarry ,,Lafarge Ciment” were researched. From the species of shrubs studied, the saplings of Hippophae rhamnoides L.and of Ligustrum vulgare L. were characterized for a good rooting (88-96%). The Elaeagnus angustifolia L.and Cotinus coggygria Scop. had a reduced rooting (38-49%). This shows that in the first year after planting, the tender saplings manifest high sensibility to the excessive influence of the environmental factors, being eliminated in a big number during this period. The saplings Elaeagnus angustifolia L. showeda high viability and the most active growths in height, the slow ones were noted at Ligustrum vulgare L. After the growth rate in height, the species of shrubs studied, are distributed in the order: Elaeagnus angustifolia L. species with a very fast growth, Cotinus coggygria Scop. and Hippophae rhamnoides L. with a fast growth, Ligustrum vulgare L. with a moderate growth. After the way it grows and it develops on the lot with freshly stored soil material of the dumb, the Elaeagnus angustifolia L.species is recommended to be used in such environment conditions.
