Rezumat

The work and creation of Bogdan Petriceicu Hasdeu are and will remain current for a culture that recognizes the power of the human genius that has made a special contribution to several fields of science: history, philology, folklore, literature, journalism, etc. It is considered that the level of civilization of a people can be appreciated by its attitude towards a woman. The Conception of a Woman of B.P. Hasdeu, a great personality of the Romanian culture of the 19th century, is representative of the Romanian society at that period. His wife Julia and daughter Julia played a special role in his life, work and creation. Hasdeu considered himself successful due to his marriage, which gave him creative peace. Julia- the woman was for him the comfort, the source of inspiration, and the muse. She was an encouraging, inspiring and precious counselor, which is why Hasdeu needed her. The direct inspiration of his wife can be seen and felt in many poems, in the famous dramatic poem Răzvan and Vidra, and in the drama Woman. All these works had been dedicated to her. The identification of the woman with the Country and the Homeland represents the quintessence of the Hasdeu’s concept of woman, which is undoubtedly a humanist concept of major importance for our times.
