In the European system of human rights protection states benefit from a margin of appreciation in the process of executing judgments delivered against them by the European Court of Human Rights, unlike the American and African systems; the Inter-American Court of Human Rights and the African Court on Human and Peoples’ Rights have broader powers that implicitly limit the margin of appreciation of the respondent states. Nevertheless, these three systems are not without similarities in the present context.
