The article describes the influence of an aging population on a region’s social-economic development based upon the author’s use of the coefficient of the demographic load of pensioners, children, and the elderly. The author discovered that the aging of population of the Transnistrien Region and in the Republic of Moldova has become a problem in the social-economic conditions in both, jeopardizing development for future generations. To improve the demographic situation it will be necessary to effect social and economic reforms, including the creation of social programs for the protection of the elderly. Given the demographics of the regions, the priority for state projects in the immediate future is the development of healthcare and social programs for the elderly.

În evoluarea situaţiei demografice în raioanele de pe malul stâng al Nistrului, autorul a calculat un şir de coeficienţi care reflectǎ starea social-economicǎ a populaţiei. S-a constatat cǎ în regiunea respectivǎ a Republicii Moldova are loc îmbǎtrânirea acceleratǎ a populaţiei – factor care agraveazǎ situaţia social-economicǎ complicând dezvoltarea viitoarelor generaţii. Pentru ameliorarea situaţiei demografice se cere o reorientare a reformelor economice, elaborarea mǎsurilor de protecţie a persoanelor de vârstǎ înaintatǎ. În anii apropiaţi prioritate trebuie sǎ i se acorde Proiectutului de Stat ProtecIia sǎnǎtǎIii publice şi dezvoltarea demograficǎ.
