The article discusses new areas of research in Gagauz ethnology. It is noted that from the second half of the first decade of the twenty-first century in Moldavian Gagauz studies began the process of expanding various ethnological areas. Classical ethnographic topics have been replaced by studies of an ethnoregional and interdisciplinary nature. From this time, we can talk about the transition of Gagauzian studies from descriptive ethnography to analytical ethnology.
