Rezumat

The results of investigations devoted to the synthesis of new tetranorlabdane
compounds containing oxadiazole structural units are reported. The tetranorlabdane
derivatives 3 and 4 with oxadiazole units were prepared from the intermediate hydrazide
2 which was treated with the CDI (1,1′-carbonyldiimidazole). The corresponding
hydrazide 2, was prepared from commercially available sclareolide 1 (Scheme 1).

Reagents and conditions: a) NH2NH2xH2O, EtOH, 90%; b) CDI, THF, 81%; c) Et3N, Acetone, 81%.
The structures of all compounds 3 and 4 were established on the basis of their 1H,
13C and 2D NMR data.
