The motivation of topic is coming from the necessity of knowing the way of involvement of orthodox church in community social work, a practice of secular historical dimension, from a complex perspective as the theological one (at the level of values and faith) and the social one (at the level of institutions of charity), in order to establish the place and the identity of social work in society related to the level of orthodox value of the nation. Even if the Church through its social activities had a great amount of trust during the whole its history,today it is recorded a rise of state non-religious power and authority influence, at the same time with a diminution of the Church influence or of the religious authority in general. This process has a negative effect on the social activities of the Church. The problem of practical research refers to the way the Church is manifesting its involvement in community mobilization in order to realize the social mission and the impact on the degree of welfare of people in risk situations. The object of practical research represents the social partnerships at the community level in order to assure a complex assistance of children in social risk. The cooperation and collaboration between the Church and State in the plan of social action should start with assuming the dignity of human personality. In this perspective, the social doctrine cannot represent the expression of a reason based exclusively on numbers and statistics. Inclusively, when programs of social work which concerns the involvement of social structures are developed, these should not abstract the unique and unrepeatable value of a person. The church is not indifferent to the values and institutions of social life. On the contrary, it recognizes their importance and has a positive attitude towards them.
