The contemporary professional art textile of Ukraine is one of the most vivid phenomena of national art that is constantly evolving and changing. Complicated social, political processes, artistic occurrences of the end of the XX – beginning of the XXI century and the age of globalization influenced on the plastic qualities of its searching. As a result, conceptual metamorphoses began to occur in the artistic textile of Ukraine. Textile works in all their diversity become equal partners with other types of contemporary art. An integrative connection of the artistic textile with graphic, sculpture, painting is observed. As a result, the original styling and imaginative compositions appeared (textile sculpture and 3D art objects, installations, assemblages, collages). The particular feature of artistic textile is that the universal language of art blurs the interspecies boundaries in the creation of new textile forms. The author’s analyzed concepts of Ukrainian authors at the present stage show that in the context of creating new artistic forms an active traditional and new techniques combination of the so-called „authorial” performance is used. Artists use natural and synthetic yarn, cords, non-textile raw stuff, „ready made” items, recycling materials etc. A distinctive contemporary feature of different generations of authors, in particular S. Burak, A. Popova, O. Borysova, O. Rybotytska, L. Bohaychuk, O. Lukovska, T. Barabasz, A. Holodetska and others is the individual author’s search for ways to create the image. An important developmental aspect of the textile art in Ukraine is the exhibition activities. At specialized regional and international exhibitions authors present their best achievements of the textile art. The integration of the Ukrainian textile into the European art environment is observed. Thus, the modern professional textile art of Ukraine holds a worthful place on the artistic map of both national and European art, and has the prospects for further development in the future. |
