Since Xi Jinping came to power in November 2012, there have been significant changes in the direction of China's foreign policy. The power transition has also changed the strategy of China in its domestic and foreign affairs. Xi and his administration have revised the traditional principles upon which China's relations with other states within the international community have been anchored. This shift away from the previously enforced norms has led to China's strengthening of its international relations and has increased its position in foreign policy to such an extent that it is no longer a silent observer, but a strong and important state affecting international affairs globally. Decision-making and foreign policy goals have become more open, proactive and ambitious, leading to a diversification of roles within the Chinese Communist Party and a consistent hierarchy of power, headed by President Xi Jinping. The article aims to examine questions concerning the direction and objectives of new Chinese foreign policy. We will emphasize the values, principles and Xi's ideas shaping the future shape of international relations and China's active role in this process.
