This article is an abridged summary of author’s doctoral thesis, written in the domain of international political economy under the title „World Economic Order and the Protection of National Interests”. The paper is focused at singling out the lucrative, empirically proven principles of economic development and their implementation tools (the best economic practices) with the view of identifying solutions that would provide for a solid ground for the sustainable economic development of Republic of Moldova. In a broader framework of the constructivist methodological sequence of norms-identities-interests, the paper applied the inductive method of historical empiricism, complemented by analysis and synthesis, these being correlated with the neoclassical economic model for the conventionally closed economy (the paradigm of economic nationalism) and for the conventionally open economy (the paradigm of economic mondialism).
