Rezumat

In the specialty literature, more attention is paid to the antibacterial preparations and
antifungal polymeric preparations with prolonged properties and other features that are
successfully used in pharmaceutical practice [1-2].
In our work we have synthesized many copolymers with medicinal properties of the N-vinyl
pyrrolidone, methacrylic acid (1:1), or starch and dextran engrafted with furacilin (I) and butyl
ester of the 5-nytro-2-furfulidencarbazil acid (NACS) and other nitrofuran derivatives according to the following scheme:

The structure of biologically active copolymers was confirmed by IR spectroscopy and by
elemental analysis. From IR spectrum it was evident the appearance of NO2 group (=820 cm-1
si 1510 cm-1) as well as the increase of the intensity of the band peak with =1720 cm-1
characteristic of the carbonyl group for N-VP: ACM engrafted with 5-nitro 2-furfurjlidenecarbazilic
ester as well as the emergence of other new features of the biologically active
copolymer.
The medical test of copolymer with furacilin (I) and with 5-nitro-2- furfurjlidene-carbazilic
ester proved antimicrobial and antimycotic essential action against the Gram-negative and Grampositive
cultures. These properties allow the use of biologically active copolymers in
pharmaceutical practice.
