Intravascular ultrasound is one of modern methods recently introduced into daily practice of Department of Interventional Cardiology of Institute of Cardiology. The techniques of intravascular ultrasound are used for revealing and estimation of morphological parameters of the atherosclerotic plaque in coronary arteries, and also for „individual” treatment of in-stent restenosis, for determination of necessary treatment options, such as РОВА (plain old ballon angiopalsty) for restenosis of stent edges „candy restenosis” or implantation of a new pharmacological stent „stent in stent” in diffuse restenosis of BMS (bare-metal stent), etc. Intravascular ultrasound is of great importance as for careful research of atherosclerotic lesions before stent implantation, and for quality assessment of procedure after. |
