The article discusses the experience of the Children's Art School named after Dmitry Erebakan. Particular attention is paid to ways to increase the educational motivation of students. Important ways to increase the motivation of students in a children's art school is to encourage their research activities through the organization of competitions and conferences, as well as to encourage participation in the artistic life of the region through participation in exhibitions and work contests. Of great importance is the work on the formation of groups of groups and the school as a whole through the organization of excursions, etc
