Intrahepatic portal hypertension associated with esophageal varices represents a quite seldom and severe complication of the intrahepatic block of viral etiology in children. The treatment tactics in these children remains still controversial. In this article the
experience of medical and surgical treatment of children with portal hypertension of viral etiology in the ―Academician Natalia Gheorghiu National Scientific and Practical Center of Pediatric Surgery during 1990-2011 period of time.
