This article describes the demographic situation in the Republic of Moldova and health human resources situation, including set of proposals for public authorities’ decision making process. Demographic decline, aging population, rural depopulation and other features specifi c to demographic process has a major impact on the evolution of epidemiology, the education quality and development of the health workforce. This phenomenon requires on-going need of human health capital optimization, gradual adjustment to the current demographic realities and projected scenarios.
