The sunflower moth sex pheromone — cis-13-octadecenal aldehyde — was synthesized parting from the propargilic alcohol alkylderivate (tetradecin-2-ol-1). Through its isomerization in the presence of sodium amide in ethylenediamine it was transformed into respective acetylenic alcohol with a terminal triple bond tetradecine-13-ol-1. Hydroxyl group in tetradecine-13-ol-1 being protected with 2,3-dihydropyran and alkylated with 1-bromobutane in liquid ammonia the 1-(2׳- tetrahydropyraniloxy)octadecine aldehyde was obtained, which after deprotecting the –OH group (sulfuric acid 16% and ethanol) and after reduction with the Ni catalyst with ethylenediamine in ethanol was transformed into cis-13-octadecenol-1. By oxidationof alcohol obtainedwith the chlorochromate ăpyridin in methylene dichloride thr cis-13-octadecenal aldehyde — the component of the sunflower moth sex pheromone was obtained. |
