The role of night sleep in conditions of acute adaptation of man to the highlands is analyzed. The increase in height helps reduce the saturation of arterial blood with oxygen, increases the negative impact of stress factors on the quality of sleep, which is especially fraught with a high level of physical activity. In the individual group assessment of sleep at altitude, the role of age factors, as well as the characteristics of the alarming response of the surveyed mountaineers and mountain tourists, is considered. It is shown that, taking into account individual features, the combined use of low-altitude CPAP devices allows, in a number of cases, to stop breathing disorders in sleep by the type of sleep apnea / hypopnea, which improves the quality of night sleep and helps reduce the period of acute adaptation to the highlands. As polysomnography of night sleep shows, this process is positively affected by a reduction in the number of EEG activations in sleep, as well as a reduction in EEG wakefulness and sudden awakenings in sleep. The procedures of somnological escort of mountain tourists of age groups are considered to optimize their acute adaptation to the highlands.
