In the study were involved 358 children with IJA with the more than 6 affected joins, PCR at 20mg/l, SVE > 25mm/h. 358 children were divided into 3 groups, the first group included 133 children, they received MTX (methotrexat) treatment, second group received SZ (sulfasalazin) treatment –133 children, and the control group treated with placebo – 92 children. After 6 months of treatment in the group remained 197 children, after 12 months -146 children, after 24 months 116 children. Effectiveness, tolerance and safety of treatment were analyzed through 6, 12 and 24 months. The main common cause of excluding the patients was the secondary effects and absence of response to the treatment. In general, dismissal from the group, which was treated with MTX, was smaller, than in the second group (14% vs 19%; 3% vs 7% şi 10% vs 15%, accordingly after 6 month, 1and 2 year of treatment).
