Rezumat

During the transition from Soviet-style economic system to one based on market principles property rights have become of a major importance, once it became clear that private ownership of the means of production is the foundation of a market-oriented economies. Following the privatization of former collective and state farms and creation of private agricultural enterprises about 74% of agricultural land became private property. Massive transfer of ownership of the means of production in agriculture and in particular agricultural land took place in a very fast pace. Subsequently, institutions responsible for adjustment and regulation of agricultural activities either failed to be established, or grows too slowly. Thus the appropriation of the peasants was followed by the appearance of a number of problems that previously were not known to farmers.
