Rezumat

It is known that there were some problems with the burial of Alexei Chorny in Chisinau over 100 years ago, but despite of this, the monument with the rare architecture had survived. And today, not far from the cemetery church, there is a modest little-known grave of the son of one from ancestors of the Serbian royal dynasty and the uncle of the current Serbian king Peter the First as Alexei Chorny Karageorgievich, who died in 1831. “Kishinev Diocesan Bulletin” in 1911, referring to the Serbian patriots, reported that the Bassarabian Governor Count I. V. Kankrin drew attention to the monument, which, by his opinion, should have been maintained and restored, since its architecture, presented in the form of a quadrangular claim from the local limestone, was interesting one. From one side of this monument there is an inscription: “The lieutenant of the Life Guard Alexei Chorny was buried here”. The son of the leader of the Serbian people passed away, when he was 33 years old. From another side we can see the inscription as: “Buried in 1831. From the third side there are a few erased initials, which are difficult for reading them”. There is the all-seeing eye and the attributes of royal dignity at the 4th side of this obelisk. This year the Royal Academy of Sciences of Serbia, some scientists and researchers became interested in preserving the grave of Alexei Chorny and promised to help in the restoration of the monument at the central cemetery of Chisinau and conservation it as a sign of the respect and memory of all Serbian people.
