The article presents the results of the research of the factors that influence the eradication of homophobia among the users of the Facebook network in the Republic of Moldova. Homophobia is a prejudice, a negative or hostile attitude towards homosexuals, based on generalizations and incomplete or distorted information. The reduction of prejudices is necessary not only to lower the level of tensions and hatred directed at various social groups, but also for the persons who have the prejudices. Prejudices can be eradicated through various ways, such as: developing empathy towards others; by contact with equal status between majority and minority groups; observing tolerant behavior in society (social learning); developing critical thinking; the dissemination of truthful information related to the topics with which there are prejudices.
