Rezumat

In this paper we are interested in exploring scientific publicationson the subject of the possible effect of emotions on work outcomes and on functioning in public organizations and companies, the emotional aspect as an essential constituent of leadership capability.  Emotional intelligence holds an important place in the personality structure because it ensures success in personal life and in the professional environment. The promotion of emotional development in organizations proves that the ability to regulate emotions is a positive trait, which is associated with positive workplace performance. Effective leaders appeal not only to strategies, ideas, but also to emotions. Usually, leaders with high emotional intelligence possess such qualities as: ability to create professional interpersonal relationships: knowledge of teamwork, listening ability and empathy, ability to persuade and mobilize the team, maturity and integrity.Emotional intelligence reduces the negative effects of occupational stress.
