In this communication the term lexie is used in its first sense: minimal functional and significant unit of speech. We distinguish the simple lexicon: diplomat, diplomatic, diplomatist, diplomatically, diplo (as an abbreviation by apocope) and the complex one which contains several words in the process of integration or already integrated: panda diplomacy, white diplomacy, macro merkelian diplomacy. The complex lexicon is a fixed sequence: correspondence, diplomatic bag, complications, diplomatic incidents, diplomatic mission. Later Bernard Pottier had proposed that the traditional distinction of parts of discourse should take the lexis as the basic unit and no longer the word. Indeed, the syntactic behavior of diplomacy behind the scenes, conducting a panda-diplomacy, passing a diplomatic test encourages to classify this lexis in the respective grammatical categories: noun, compound noun, verb. The second notion of this article is the lexicography of contemporary diplomacy. With the unprecedented development of technical means of communication and information, which save time, enlarge spaces, multiply interactions, diplomacy in the broad sense is more than ever an instrument of influence, improvement, things'', especially in the construction of peace and through global or regional processes of negotiation. In short, there is probably a need for an instrument / lexicographic instruments in this important area of international life. What is the state of diplomatic lexicography right now? What sources are we still lacking, because the contemporary reader needs to quickly acquire many general and specialized terms that are part of the so-called status quo? (jargon) community diplomacy, but also familiar and popular media terms.
