Rezumat

Two main species are associated with the development of early blight of tomato - A. alternata and A. solani. There were reported cases of misidentification via morphological methods, because of A. solani does not readily sporulates in vitro in a mixed population of spores, mainly A. alternata can be detected. There was elaborated an effective method of Alternaria spp. detection directly from plant tissue, using nested-PCR and a set of primers, designed for specie-specific regions of Alternaria genome.
