The paper addresses the aspects of implementing a performance management system within a company in the downstream sector of the oil industry. This includes defining an organization-wide strategy, perspectives, strategic objectives and, especially, Key Performance Indicators. After a throughout mapping of all these elements within a scorecard is performed, the top management can employ it as a strategy map to track and evaluate company performance. Moreover, the main advantages of the approach are presented with a key focus on the case study. |
