Rezumat

The article is devoted to the diastratic classification of monolexical units of the conceptual-semantic-fields “money” in the English, Romanian and Russian languages. The study of the lexical units from the point of view of systematization and structuring into subsystems of different areas has been greatly dealt with in modern linguistics. Scholars define the conceptual-semantic field as a complex structure, which provides interconnected components verbalizing various aspects of the field. The field is not only regarded as a collection of concepts whose features are ordered in a certain hierarchy but also as a system of overlapping cognitive structures. For this contribution, we consulted the works of different linguists who carried out the research on the theme such as J. Trier, G. Ipsen, W. Porzig, J. Lyons, E. Coseriu, H. Geckeler, V. Bahnaru and Y. Stepanov. Over 600 monolexical units have been selected for the analysis and classification according to the diastratic criterion. Diastratic classification is made according to the dimensions or varieties proposed by E. Coseriu and called “the architecture of the language” (the term coined by the Norwegian scholar L. Flydal). In the concluding section, the author reveals the similarities and differences of the concept “money” in the three linguacultures.
