Our article is dedicated to the 150th celebration of Iulia Hasdeu's birth (1869 - 1888). Titled „Remember: la personnalité créatrice de Julie Hasdeu à 150 ans depuis sa naissance”, the study proposes a new, fresh perspective over the personality and work of B.P. Hasdeu's daughter. Iulia Hasdeu was labeled by her biographies as a fragile human being, victim of paternal ambitions and an unfair destiny. But we suggest and plead for a different image of her. From our point of view, her existence is the expression of a maturity project of the scientist-writer, involving 3 major personalities: Bogdan Petriceicu (father), Iulia Faliciu Hasdeu (mother) and Iulia Hasdeu (daughter). As we argue based on the existing correspondence and work published after her death, she proves to be at all ages a strong character, who adapts, asserts herself in and finally conquers the foreign school and academic environment. A first stage of the project to become “docteur à la Sorbonne” we consider accomplished by the fact that she did become the first Romanian to graduate with a baccalaureate degree in Paris. Her work is even more valuable as it surpasses the boundaries the Romanian feminine literature of her time.
