Rezumat

Sowing date is one of the important factor affecting sunflower production. To determine the optimum sowing date of sunflower hybrids, and its influence on seed yield, experiments were conducted at the Institute of Field and Vegetable Crops in Novi Sad, Serbia. Three hybrids (NS Oskar, NS Fantazija, Orfej) were sown on eight dates (SD120.03; SD2-01.04; SD3-10.04; SD4-20.04; SD5-01.05; SD6-10.05; SD7-20.05; SD801.06) for four years (2013-2016). The experiment was laid out as a randomized complete block design with four replications. A factorial analysis of variance (ANOVA) for oil content was performed using STATISTICA 10 software. Main effects (Y-year, Hhybrid, SD-sowing date), so as all interactions (Y × H, Y × SD, H × SD, Y × H × SD) for seed yield were highly significant. Seed yield was mostly influenced by the year of investigation (53.52%) and by sowing date (32.28%). On the basis of four years average highest seed yield showed hybrid Orfej (4.03 t ha-1). Between years highly significant differences were stated. The highest seed yields were achieved in 2013 (4.60 t ha-1 ) and 2015 (4.55 t ha-1). In the year 2014 seed yield was lowest (3.00 t ha-1). The reason for lowest seed yield in 2014 was worse weather conditions during this growing season. The results showed significant effects of sowing date on seed yield. A delay of the sowing date significantly decreased seed yield of sunflower. Highest values of seed yield were stated from SD1 (4.59 t ha-1) to SD4 (4.46 t ha-1). After that seed yield decreased until 3.00 t ha-1 (SD8). A delayed planting date had a negative effect on seed yield. The results of this study may be helpful in recommending optimal sunflower hybrid sowing date in the region. A delayed planting date had a negative effect on seed yield, so earlier sowing dates are recommended for achieving high seed yields of sunflower hybrids.
