The process of restructuring the petrophyte ecosystem includes the following phases: dumps formation, restoration of biodiversity on the surface of sterile dumps and the formation of the new soil strata. It is well-known that the soil formation on the surface of sterile dumps, restoration of biodiversity, humus formation – all these constitute an interdependent process. The highest level of evolution of the soldering process is represented by the regosoil on the surface of the a 25-year dump heap. It has a 34-cm thickness (the layer A + layer B – humus layers). Depending on the heap exposure duration to the soil formation process, there is increased the content of organic substance in the newly formed soil, there is improved the structure of soil aggregators; both the soil profile thickness and the vegetation diversity increase. In the restructuring process, the petrophyte ecosystem from the limestone quarry of the ‘Lafarge Cement’ plant interacts with several factors: atmosphere, hydrosphere, lithosphere, biodiversity, soil microorganisms and time duration. An important role is played by the last stage, the third one, which refers to the restoration and development of vegetal diversity on the surface of tailings dumps, a fact that contributes to the accumulation of organic mass with its biochemical transformation, under the influence of microorganisms, in humus. The pedogenetic factors ensure pedogenesis, the formation of regosoil, which represents the restructuring process of of the the petrophytic ecosystem. These processes are interdependent and influence each other. |
