The semantic phenomena such as synonymy, homonymyand paronymy are considered as "pathological states" of the medical terminology because they are confusing; therefore, medical terminology is required to be as accurate and unambiguous as possible. In the present paper, we identify the paronymic relationships that exist in the language of medicine and classify them. The Greek-Latin doublets favour the establishment of semantic relations of paronymy at the level of terminological elements, which form the medical term.

Fenomenele semantice ca sinonimia, omonimia, paronimia sunt considerate „stări patologice” ale terminologiei medicale, deoarece sunt generatoare de confuzii; or, terminologia medicală se cere a fi cât mai exactă, univocă. În prezenta lucrare, s-au identificat relațiile de paronimie existente în terminologia medicală și se propune o clasificare a acestora. Dubletele greco-latine favorizează stabilirea unor relaţii semantice de paronimie la nivel de elemente terminologice care, prin conjuncție, formează termenul medical.
