Rezumat

This work reflects the crystallographic study of the complex compound obtained as a result of the reaction of copper nitrate with strontium(II)-5-methylsalicylate in a mixture of solvents[1]. Blue crystals of new heteronuclear complex with the composition [CuSr(CH3SalH)4(DMAA)2(CH3OH)] (1) were obtained. Acording to single crystal X-ray studies the complex 1 has a dinuclear molecular structure (Fig. 1) and crystallizes in triclinic space group P1 with the following unit cell parameters: a = 7.7513(5), b = 12,8880(10), c = 23,2244(18) (Å), α=100.100(7)º, β=92.672(6)º, γ=105.814(6)º. The copper atom is four coordinated {Cu(Ocarb)4} while the strontium atom has a number of coordination equal to eight {Sr(Ocarb)5(DMAA)2(CH3OH)}. The X-ray investigation of monocrystals revealed the polymeric structure of this complex due to the carboxylic bridging Cu-Sr. The carboxylic groups are coordinated in a syn-syn bridging mode. The oxygen atom of the hydroxyl group of salicylic acid is not involved in coordination, but forms intramolecular hydrogen bonds to the carboxylic groups. Elemental analysis, %: Found: C, 50.82; H, 5.19; N, 3.48. Calculated for C40H46CuSrN2O14: C, 51.18; H, 5.23; N, 3.01. IR spectrum(ν, cm-1): 3020.0 sh, 2943 sh, 1657.9 w, 1620.1 vs, 1578.8 w, 1488.8 s, 1423.1 s, 1404.6 w, 1386.9 vw, 1360.6 vw, 1334.1vs, 1295.5 s, 1249.7 vw, 1238.1 m, 1201.8,vs, 1135.7 w, 1099.7 vw, 1022.3 s, 962.7 w, 922.1 w, 908.4vw, 822.0 m, 809.6 vs, 773.3 s, 768.8 vw, 752.3 vw, 706.3 m, 682.0 vs (vs= very strong, s= strong, m= medium, w=weak, vw= very weak and sh shoulder). Fig.1. The x-ray structure of 1. As the result of this study a new poly-hetero-dinuclear Cu-Sr complex compound was obtained and isolated as monocrystals. The structure of the compound was determined by X-ray crystalography with the composition [CuSr(CH3-SalH)4(DMAA)2(CH3OH)]. The IR spectroscopy and Elemental analysis are in accordance with crystallographic data.
