Rezumat | ||||||
Reexports of goods account for one third of total Moldovan exports. In Computable General Equilibrium (CGE) models, the reexports are usually removed from exports, with a corresponding contraction of imports. However, in the Moldovan case, only one quarter of reexports are “classic” reexports of goods without substantial technological transformations; the rest are processed goods incorporating substantial amount of services. This requires explicitly accounting for the reexports in the CGE model. Ultimately, this requires estimation of structural and elasticity coefficients. This paper shows how these coefficients can be estimated in case of the Moldovan economy, using an adjusted Social Accountability Matrix and a set of panel data models. |
