The modern research on aromatic and medicinal plants, which have become very popular again, is a true source of health benefits. The cultivation of aromatic plants is favoured by the climatic conditions of our country, which by their diversity allow the development of a wide range of species. They are a source of plant material for the cosmetic, pharmaceutical and food industry. An important role in the growth of plant production is played by bio-morphological, ecological studies, the production of healthy planting material and the improvement of technologies for the cultivation of these plants. One of the most important aromatic species is lavender, which is cultivated for its inflorescences with pleasant, unique smell that exudes freshness. The essential oil, extracted by the distillation of fresh inflorescences, is the main product obtained from lavender and it is widely used in the perfumes, cosmetic products, pharmaceuticals, aromatherapy etc. The dry inflorescences, due to the essential oil and its components, are used in some teas with sedative, antiseptic, choleretic, cholagogue, diuretic, carminative effects etc.. |
