This article examines the impact of Creangă’s narrative model on Ion Druță’s prose. The relationship between the character and the author, the narrative figures, the stylistic dominants of he stories „Memories from chilhood” by Ion Creangă and „Horodişte” by Ion Druță are analysed. In Creangă’s „memories” dominates the figures of the Mother, a living icon, easily idealized and sacred; In Druță’s story dominates the figure of Father far from being a saint, but both parents are warmly evoked. The combination of direct and indirect or indirect-free style is well orchestrated, suggesting also the flow of narrative discourse between the time of events and the time of narration. Through his art, Druță is synchronized by preceding with a poetics that leads to a metaphysics of a novelist from another century. The orality and the spirit of Creangă animates the autobiographical story „Horodişte”, but which,of course, always reminds of a well-rooted mentality. The author emphasizes the narrator’s cult, the orality, the paremiological erudition, the instinctive genius sense of language, the pleasure to tell the stories, the intrinsic elements of the narrative model in the line of Creangă-Sadoveanu tradition. |
