In an era which the subjects of internationalization in higher education and globalization in general are intensifying, the context in question is the subject of general benefits to the system. However, let us not forget that those who are tangibly going through the process are not systems or policies and trends, but students. They are the ones who have to make a decision about where will they continue their education and it is their decision to relocate for the purpose of studying. Students' considerations regarding the internationalization are not necessarily systemic considerations but personal considerations of personal growth, development and sense of adventure while understanding a different language, different culture and settling somewhere else, different from the homeland. It is significant to improving language skills in the acquisition of a second language when living and studying in the same country, as the daily association with the natives is an important factor in the acquisition and knowledge of a second language as well as the acquisition of cultural knowledge of that country. In order for the processes of internationalization to be implemented, it is necessary to motivate the “customers” of this process - the students, and, in fact, appeal to them and recruit them. In this literature review, we examined the role of motivation and what could be the main factors that will drive the students to transition to another country with a different language and culture than they knew all their lives. |
