In 1998, Moldova a dizolvat fermele colective şi a redistribuit pământul fermelor şi activele  non-funciare angajaţilor. Deşi pământul a fost distribuit într-o manieră transparentă şi corectă, majoritatea loturilor au fost foarte mici şi foarte fragmentate.Primele experienţe de reparcelare a terenurilor agricole (consolidarea terenurilor) în Republica Moldova au avut loc prin implementarea proiectului de reparcelare/consolidarea terenurilor agricole în 6 comunităţi experimentale. 

In 1998, Moldova dissolved collective farms and redistributed farm land and non-land assets to farm employees. Although the land was distributed in a transparent and fair manner, most of the plots distributed were small and highly fragmented resulting in low agricultural productivity.The first experiences with land re-parcelling (land consolidation) in Moldova were  gained during the Moldova Land Re-parcelling Pilot Project with field experiences in 6 pilot  communities. The project was implemented 2007-09 under the RISP-II programme funded by World Bank and the Swedish Development Agency — SIDA. Based on the pilot experiences,  the land re-parcelling activities were scaled up to other 40 communities, also funded under RISP-II. Present paper presents results and findings of the Land re-parceling project implemented in 40 villages of the Republic of Moldova in the period 2009—2010.
