The Arab educational system has changed in many aspects since the establishment of the state, still this system has to cope with many problems regarding: resources, qualification, leadership, subjects and curriculums. The discrimination in the Arab education system has led to a situation where there is a gap between the Arab and the Jewish sectors achievements both in the Bagrut exams and the standardized national tests. The parties responsible for determining the educational policies including the ministry of education seek to diminish the gaps above by implementing various administrative and structural reforms yet, those reforms haven't fulfilled their aim. This article will discuss the Arab educational system in Israel and shed light upon the characteristics of the Palestinian Arab community in Israel in general and upon the challenges it faces as a derivative of the general educational system. |
