The article The Literary Creativity and the Socialist Realism Canon is an attempt to define the concept of „creativity” beginning with reviewing its definitions, continuing with its application to the art domain, ending with the specification of its function in describing the processes of literary texts production. The concept of ”creativity” has been analyzed by specialists from different areas. A creative man can manifest himself in various spheres of activity, but this concept is revealed more explicitly in art. The literary creativity implies the writer's ability to produce a unique work that did not exist before. The text that is original and represents a spiritual value on the literary scale can be considered creative. The moment when a creative idea appears, is not a random one in most cases. It is usually based on the artist's previous experience, or it appears as a response to the dogmas of a literary movement. The creativity involves the challenge and the overcoming of the limits. These limits support the existence of factors that impede creativity. The literary history knows periods when the texts written at the order of officials had a great value. Stepping outside the canon of the socialist realism, the literary phenomenon we will refer to was seen as the manifestation of the text's weaknesses. In particular, we consider those points to be creative though.
