Matei Iliescu, by Radu Petrescu is one of the first Romanian novels to launch the bookish dialogue with the memory of the erotic paradigm of literature. It’s a novel about the erotic speech, about the erotic literature and its characters. Eros becomes a metatheme, an illustration of the world erotic prototypes in the post-modernism mirror. The Eroticon of the mirror, the theatre of seduction, the Eroticon of the window, the idyllic and love-passion erotology etc., are redesigned and rewritten according to the poetics of the „Targoviste School”. The romantic fable between Matei and Dora becomes a novel narrative occasion for a rewrite of the old love prototypes in a post-modernist key to test their validity in a paper world, in a world of library. |

E un roman despre discursul erotic, despre literatura erotică și personajele ei. Erosul devine o metatemă, o ilustrare în oglinda postmodernității a arhetipurilor erotice ale lumii. Eroticonul oglinzii, teatrul seducției, eroticonul ferestrei, erotologia idilică și cea a iubirii-pasiune etc. sunt regândite și rescrise în conformitate cu poetica „Școlii de la Târgoviște”.
