The present issue of the Journal is dedicated to Evaluation. We have by purpose chosen this, as it is extremely important for the Educational System and not only. Education is the area of a great importance for the society, and its quality can not be assured without an adequate evaluation system. Evaluation, as part of the reformation process in the Education, has been somehow left behind the other components. Our intention was to present some ways for improving the Evaluation in all its aspects.
In brief, the journal contains the following:
- A straw poll, in which, along with the Ministry of Education, have participated representatives of the Academy of Sciences, specialists in Evaluation, managers from the University and Pre-University level, lecturers, teachers, students. All they have proposed several solutions for improving the evaluation system.
- Theoretical Articles/Columns which bring for debate a new concept of Evaluation within the Educational System.
- A description of new tendencies in various aspects of evaluation: evaluation of adults, students' self-evaluation, teachers' evaluation.
- Materials that tackle the evaluation of all educational institutions at all levels in the context of adjusting our educational system to the European Standards, generated by the Bologna Process, as well as by the accreditation principles of the educational institutions.
- Articles on students' performance evaluation from the pre-university level, with a reference to the final annual promotional exams, as well as the graduation exams, like the baccalaureate. Issues like concrete forms of evaluation, the tests, the evaluation procedure, giving marks, etc. are highly debated.
- An interesting experience coming from a high school which has created an evaluation lab and which activates by applying the newest methods on evaluating the students' results.
- Practical materials which present evaluation within concrete disciplines (mathematics, chemistry, history, etc.)
Besides Evaluation, there are other topics covered within the traditional rubrics of the Journal.
