In this paper, the current bibliography on the state of pesticide storage in the Republic of Moldova is critically analyzed. The most polluted lands in the country have been identified, in particular the pesticide burial site near the Cismichioi commune. Methods of remediation of contaminated land by POPs are indicated. Anodic oxidation, cathodic dechlorination, electrocoagulation, and especially electro - Fenton processes are promising technologies for removing pesticides from water. At the same time, laboratory scale studies have shown that electro-kinetic processes can be used for significant soil remediation either by pollutant transport through electro-washing or by combining these processes with bioprocesses or permeable reactive barriers. |
