A congruence _ on a semigroup S is called perfect if (a_)(b_) = (ab)_ for all a; b 2 S, as sets, and S is said to be perfect if each of its congruences is perfect. We show that all eventually regular perfect semigroups are necessarily regular. Finally, we apply our result to perfect groupbound semigroups. |
