Rezumat

The doubt is the one that plays an important and sometimes a decisive role in human life. It provokes reflection on certain facts or truths, reduces the dose of confidence and stimulates the emergence of meditative thoughts, being a part of the human mind and consciousness, acting with a specific purpose and following certain criteria, and it cannot be removed by mere desire to make it disappear. Analyzing the presence of doubt in the literature, it can be observed a difference in classical literature and in the postmodernist. If classic literature outlines some particularities of the Romanian character of the human being, about which it was written and spoken, such as sadness, nostalgia, fear, etc., then its presence in postmodernist Romanian literature emphasizes the same feelings, but with a different emotional load, shrouded in cold reproach, maybe on a disregard of the present we live in. The feeling of uncertainty in the man during his evolution was changed, with the progress in time, the doubt is explained differently, not just as a stimulus of thought, but also as a flaw, a vulnerability unaccepted by nowadays speed, an inability to react speedily and efficiently, just as it requires this. In postmodernist poetic language the doubt is rendered using different means of expression, fewer of them being the classic ones, because of contemporary influence. The doubt is not so common in postmodernist literature, or, we might say, there is not given so much importance to it, things being accepted more for their certainty, than for that dose of uncertainty they hold.
