Rezumat

The present study is based on comparative linguistics, or more exactly on comparative syntax. The aim is to make a linguistic comparison to facilitate the methodology of modern languages. It is a well-known fact that the method of comparison is a heuristic one, therefore, we have analyzed in every language separately (French, Romanian and Russian) and at the same time comparatively, the behaviour of two syntactic structures with action verbs: V1 V(inf.) and V1 pour V(inf.) in order to find out, with the help of transformations, the final and/or adverbial characteristics of the postverbal infinitive in the positions presented above. In one case we deal with a nominal object which indicates place, whereas in the other case we see an infinitival object that expresses an action. The present research discusses the most frequently used action verbs which in French accept an infinitive. It is worth mentioning that we are not going to neglect the semantic value of these structures, as semantics has an important place in modern syntax.
