Rezumat

The status of stylistic, literary and poetic terminology is the topic that arises more and more questions challenged to be answered to. Current studies of Stylistics are clearly characterized by a greater interest in the use of literary language than it was the case in previous decades. Constantly, we seek to deepen our theoretical knowledge of literature and its phenomena as a system by exploring information about language use stored in electronic databases. At the very outset, let us point out the fact that-in ideal world- in order to get a fully overview of the history of the science of lexicography one should be obliged to go much further in the history than to the advent of the theoretical lexicography. It is important to know that in the development of the language, refined or abstract meanings largely grow out more concrete meanings. The concrete meaning may be thought of as the “literal” meaning of the world, but that “literal” meaning may be completely forgotten in the later history of the usage of the word. Due to this fact, many of our prosaic expressions have an unbelievable history. The concepts constituting the theory are not original, but as it is in the other interdisciplinary subjects, borrowed from the neighboring disciplines, in this case they are: linguistics, logics, ontology, philosophy, etc. If we accept that terms constitute a subcomponent of the lexicon of the language, since a speaker’s competence cannot exclude a specialized vocabulary, terminology clearly forms a part of linguistics. Even though the autonomy of terminology is an independent discipline, it has been disputed much and we accept that terminology is a field with its own theoretical principles and its own applied purposes.
