Rezumat

In the given article the author speaks about the grammatical transformations in the process of translation. These two languages belong to the Indo-European family but to different groups of languages. Russian is a Slavic language and English is a Germanic language which is considered nowadays to be a global lingua franca. The transformations in translation are conditioned by different grammar structures of these two languages. The author analyses the types of transformations in translation of composite sentences: sentences with negative statements and sentences with the parts formed in the process of conversion.
