Semantically, the “culture” represents one of the largest words which exists in every language, thus being unmeasurable from the perspective of the variety of phenomena, events, processes and great realizations delivered by the humanity after its existence. Culture is also defined as “a form of civilization” (Dictionnaire de la philosophie. Larousse. Didier Julia, Paris, Larousse, 1995, p. 53). Certainly every society has its institutions which preserve and promote their spiritual patrimony and, in this regard, the culture is associated firstly to the humanism and its values. Regarding the values – they could be grouped into three categories: true, good and beautiful. The value (what should be) differs from the truth (what is), and it is not related to the costs expressed in the money of an object. We are focused to accord the statute of value to the immaterial notions desired by the human and universally appreciated – these are the virtues as the wisdom, honesty, friendship; the values which represent the masterpieces of the universal culture are the Fine Arts, Literature, etc. As the word “culture”, “value” has a great semantic volume including together philosophy, society, creation, aesthetics and ideology. The values are often influenced by the “rightness” being related to education, but sometimes they hardly find the way to the societal acceptance, being classified as deviant and marginal to some stages of development of the civilizations. |
